This post explores the following areas of wellbeing:
Currently reading this novel for class. It discusses the West-Indian domestic scheme, a labour policy in Canada which recruited Caribbean women to work as domestic labourers in white Canadian homes. It's interesting reading this and hearing a perspective similar to that of my Grandmother who also arrived in Canada via a later iteration of the scheme, her treatment in Canada, and the legacies of this scheme for the wellbeing of Caribbean Canadian families today.
